According to a 2006 University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Center for Health Policy Research study, mid-size firms typically:

  • Purchase health insurance on their own and do not benefit from purchasing coalitions or associations
  • Receive group health insurance prices that typically reflect the organizations past year’s medical claims and insurance company “manual rates”**
