Department of Insurance to confirm that the health care insurer can do
business in the state.
- Ensure you understand the policy completely before
buying. Have a good understanding of what services are offered, your choice of
providers, where you will go for care, all costs, quality of care, and required
paperwork.
- Know when the coverage will begin and whether you
will have any gap in insurance if you currently are enrolled with another
health plan.
- Sign your contract and attain health benefit cards
with health insurance web site and customer service information. Keep all
contract and health plan benefit details in an easily accessible location.
